Ramat Gan is one of the largest diamond cutting and selling cities in the world.  It shares this title with Bombay (Mumbai), New York and Antwerp.

The tall buildings are known as the Diamond Bourse.  The smaller buildings (with the grills/bars on the windows) are the small cutting workshops where diamonds are cut every day before they are taken to the taller buildings or Diamond Bourses for sale.
