In 1975, Jorge and his wife opened the doors to Adeler Jewelers, an atelier that would soon become a beloved flagship. Today, with their daughters Valentina and Wendy — and the next generation eagerly involved — this family-run business continues to honor its rich tradition in Great Falls VA

A History of Adeler Jewlers
1973-70s
Argentina AdventuresFrom perfumes to pocket knives, Jorge bartered trinkets in Argentina for lapis and onyx—launching a legacy of transformation. “I left with $1,000 in goods and came back with beautiful gems—and a dream,” Jorge recalls.
1970s-80s
The Mall Tour YearsJorge brought his handcrafted jewelry to the people, one mall at a time. “Forty shows a year across the East Coast taught me what people really loved,” he says. These grassroots moments built the brand’s foundation.
1976
First Storefront, First SummerLong days, longer hours—but full hearts. “I worked 10am to 10pm so my wife and daughters could be with me all summer. It was a dream come true,” says Jorge of their first seaside store in Shanty Town.
1980
Finding Home in Great FallsTo balance seasons and be closer to community, Adeler Jewelers opened in Great Falls. “It allowed us to stay rooted and serve a different clientele, while still keeping our summers by the beach,” Jorge reflects.
1985
A Family of StoresBy 1985, there were four Adeler stores—three in Ocean City and one in Virginia. “We were growing fast, but always with the vision of staying unique and handmade,” says Jorge. Each store had its own flavor—and its own story.
1995-2010
The Flagship EraThe decision to close the beach stores and focus fully on Great Falls marked a turning point. “It allowed us to build a home base where the community became part of our story,” says Jorge. Great Falls also offered the right environment to raise the next generation.
2010
A Grand ReopeningOn the eve of their grand launch, the keys arrived at 9PM. The family moved in overnight—display cases, jewelry, and all. “We didn’t sleep, but the adrenaline carried us. It was magical,” Jorge recalls.
2010-2016
Red Carpet MomentsFrom Meryl Streep and Halle Berry to Oprah’s cover, Adeler’s designs hit the big stage. “To see our jewelry on icons—we felt proud, but stayed grounded. It reminded our clients just how special local can be.”
2012
The National StageAdeler’s wholesale collection launched at The London in NYC, soon gracing shelves from New York to Vail, CO. “Still, my heart is in the custom work—hearing stories, understanding dreams, and designing with soul,” Jorge says.
2025
50 Years of GratitudeFifty years after Jorge’s first trade, Adeler Jewelers remains a family-led studio rooted in passion, artistry, and gratitude. “I come to work every day to be with my daughters and our five dogs,” Jorge says. “We chat, design, and laugh with customers who’ve become our friends.” Today, Jorge works side by side with Wendy and Valentina, who bring fresh vision to the brand’s future.
